Policies
Cancellation Policy
Life’s busy. This policy isn’t about being difficult, it’s about making sure your lessons stay consistent and that the time set aside for you is used well.
If you need to cancel a lesson, please give at least 24 hours’ notice.
If you cancel with less than 24 hours to go, I’ll do my best to find you an alternative slot in the same week. If we can find one that works, no issue at all. If we can’t, the full lesson fee will apply for that session.
Every slot is reserved specifically for you. A last-minute cancellation leaves a gap that can’t easily be filled, which is why a little notice goes a long way.
Instrument Lease Policy
Foothill Frets offers instrument leasing on a flexible, no-lock-in basis. The following conditions apply to all lease agreements.
Eligibility Lessees must be 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian enter into the agreement on their behalf. A valid form of photo ID is required before any instrument is released.
Deposit A refundable deposit of $100 is required at the start of the lease. This is returned in full when the instrument is returned in its original condition.
Care and Condition You are responsible for the instrument for the duration of the lease. Normal wear and tear is expected, but any damage beyond that will be assessed on return. Repair costs will be covered by the lessee. If an instrument is damaged beyond repair or not returned, the full replacement cost of the instrument will apply.
Ending the Lease You can end the lease at any time. Please give at least 7 days’ notice so collection or return can be arranged. Deposits are returned once the instrument has been inspected.
Payment Lease payments are agreed at the time of booking and are due as outlined in your individual agreement.
Safeguarding and Student Welfare
The safety and wellbeing of all students is a priority.
Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian provide consent before lessons begin. By enrolling a minor, the parent or guardian confirms they are aware of and agree to the lesson arrangement.
All lessons are conducted at the agreed lesson location. The address is provided privately upon booking and is for the use of the enrolled student and their parent or guardian only. It should not be shared publicly or passed on to third parties.
Foothill Frets reserves the right to contact a parent or guardian directly if any welfare concern arises during the course of lessons.
General terms
Foothill Frets reserves the right to refuse or discontinue lessons or leases at any time. This would only ever be exercised where there is a reasonable cause to do so.
Foothill Frets is not liable for any personal items brought to lessons.
These policies may be updated from time to time. Where changes affect existing students or lessees, reasonable notice will be given.
